The origin story
112 Gripes began in 2019 as a single spreadsheet of consumer frustrations logged by a small editorial team. That list became a newsletter, then a publication, then a public archive of grievances worth investigating.
Today, every submission is read, categorized, and either investigated by our editors or paired with a sourced, fact-checked resolution. We are the record that complaint forums never became.

Editorial Independence
We are funded by readers, not by the companies we cover. No pay-to-publish, no sponsored complaints, no buried corrections.
Verified Resolution
Every gripe is paired with a sourced answer — a policy reference, a contact path, a legal right, or a documented workaround that actually works.
Reader-First Reporting
Submissions are read by a human within 72 hours. We follow up. We publish updates. We close the loop on what others leave hanging.
By The Numbers

Editorial standards
Every article passes a four-stage review: source verification, legal accuracy, editorial clarity, and a final read for tone. We do not publish until the complaint is documented and the answer is defensible.
We disclose methodology. We name authors. We issue corrections with timestamps. Our archive is the standard, and we hold ourselves to it on every page.

Submission policy
Submit a gripe through our intake form with as much context as you can provide: dates, names, screenshots, reference numbers. Anonymous submissions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and published only with verifiable third-party corroboration.
We do not accept submissions intended to defame, harass, or settle personal scores. We do accept — and protect — whistleblowers and consumer reports made in good faith.
